Hi, I'm J.M.

Most call me J, but I also answer to Jem. I created the Colors of Immortality series, a dark urban paranormal that takes the undead in a fun new direction. Don't call them zombies though, they're far from it.

I built a new breed of immortal.

My stories are dark, with even darker characters. I don't believe in the perfect hero--and won't write one either. If you decide my stories are for you, expect to be greeted with flawed creatures and maddening choices.

We're all a little broken, but that's the beauty of it all. We get to patch ourselves together and choose how we mend.

Mistakes are part of the human experience, and I believe my creations should endure the same sorts of trials as we all do--I round them out with jealousies, tempers, insecurities and bouts of kindness. I transform fictional players into relatable characters.
